Sin is a word as employed by the religious as it is spurned by the non-religious. The religious use sin as a delimiter of specific acts whose avoidance makes them feel justified, even when they knowingly contradict what they say they believe. Many non-religious feel that calling something a sin is a deeply offensive and judgmental act. Both groups are equally incorrect about the meaning and value of the concept.
