God is the source of everything we desire and everything we should desire. He knows everything that will happen, since the beginning, and has all power to arrange circumstances:
But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words. And thus it is. Amen. (1 Nephi 9:6)
It is a correct understanding of God’s knowledge, love, and power that caused the ancients to advise that you “come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him” (Omni 1:26), “come with full purpose of heart, and cleave unto God as he cleaveth unto you” (Jacob 6:5), and “render to him all that you have and are.” (Mosiah 2:34)
We can trust in him completely by seeking him with our whole soul, knowing that he has the power, knowledge, and love to lead us to what we seek.
As an ancient prophet said:
Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend. (Mosiah 4:9)
No matter what you desire, the optimal way to obtain as much of it as is possible is to seek God with all your heart and to follow every instruction you receive from him.
