God is willing to show you any and everything he knows and experiences just as quickly as you are willing to receive it:

5 I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
6 Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.
7 They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them. (Isaiah 48)

In the resurrection, you will have a “perfect knowledge” of all things, or, in other words, a correct perspective of the experiences you had in mortality and the cause and effect relationship between your character in its present state and what brings happiness or misery:

13 O how great the plan of our God! For on the other hand, the paradise of God must deliver up the spirits of the righteous, and the grave deliver up the body of the righteous; and the spirit and the body is restored to itself again, and all men become incorruptible, and immortal, and they are living souls, having a perfect knowledge like unto us in the flesh, save it be that our knowledge shall be perfect.
14 Wherefore, we shall have a perfect knowledge of all our guilt, and our uncleanness, and our nakedness; and the righteous shall have a perfect knowledge of their enjoyment, and their righteousness, being clothed with purity, yea, even with the robe of righteousness. (2 Nephi 9)

In that day, you will not have a choice in whether or not to have this awareness. Those who have not prepared for this degree of awareness by living righteously will be filled with indescribable misery.

There is no reason that you can’t voluntarily acquire this degree of awareness while still in this life. This is, in fact, the very way to prepare for it in the life to come.

Knowledge consists not only of information but also confidence in its accuracy. God knows perfectly well what will happen with perfect confidence. This confidence is absolutely necessary to having all things before you. This confidence helps you experience far greater joy by enabling you to rest assured that even if positive things are intermittent, they will surely come again, just as a clock reads the same time twice every day.

All things are present before the Lord because he knows all the laws of cause and effect. You obtain this gift by increasing the knowledge you receive from God. He knows all things because he knows how all things work together. He can see the end from the beginning. To him, the universe is like a clock. He knows everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen due to his knowledge of every component, the laws of reality, and patterns of how things work. The more you learn from him, the more you will do the same.

When you begin learning about how reality works, you are sometimes correct and sometimes incorrect. As you learn more and more, while your understanding may still be incorrect or incomplete, you will have more and more moments where your predictions of the future become reality. As you learn more and more about reality, your confidence of the accuracy of your understanding will increase, and you will learn to have all things before you.

As you draw closer to God, he will show you more of what he knows. Through the Holy Ghost, he can tell you “the truth of all things.” (Moroni 10:5) The closer you draw to him, the more all things will be before you continually.

God not only knows the laws of cause and effect, but he believes them. He believes them so thoroughly that his confidence in them overpowers any perception of what is happening in the moment. Because of this, he can endure the most awful situations possible in this world, knowing exactly why they are necessary for the greatest benefit in the long term. As we have faith in him, his faith in himself (his trust in these laws of cause and effect) will provide us with the same strength.
