Trustworthiness is a simple trait with outsized effects. A person who does what they say they will do should not be hard to find, but they are. Whenever you deal with normal people, you have to carry the overhead of the possibility that they fail to do what they said they would. When they disappoint you, you will need to allocate the resources required to recover from their failure while enduring the emotional hurt of their choice to prioritize something over that for which you depended upon them. Reliable people allow you to do much more than you otherwise would because you can consider whatever they commit to as good as done. Every existing task you hand to a reliable person is one more new task you can complete yourself. Be a reliable person, and surround yourself with the same.
