Dishonesty is not a trait only found in the worst people. It is normal to be dishonest. Almost everyone today is almost completely disjointed in their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Consider the wide differences between the following:
- What they say they want versus what they actually do.
- What they say they want versus what they actually want.
- What they should want, given what they believe, versus what they actually want.
- What they say they believe, versus the beliefs they demonstrate by what they do, why they do it, and how they feel.
- How they see themselves versus how they really are.
- Who they appear to be to others versus how they see themselves.
- What they say to and do around others versus what they really think and feel.
How few people consistently feel, think, and act in accordance with each other and with reality as they understand it to be? One who feels differently than they think or act, thinks differently than they feel or act, or acts differently than they think or feel is dishonest.
